Dan Ryan In 1974 Dan began his farming career by partnering with his Father Albert Ryan in a very humble beginning. He rented 32 acres just south of Decatur IL and bought half interest in 24 sows. Over the course of the next 8 years he expanded his sow herd as well as increased his land base to 280 acres.
In 1982 Dan chose to forego what he had built with his father at an opportunity to move south of Taylorville, IL where he acquired a large acreage that would become the "base" of what has been built to date. As the years progressed the livestock became less of staple in the operation and the land base for row crop kept growing.
Keith Ryan graduated from college in 2000 when he took a position managing the Farm Progress Show. After three years of gaining the management experience that he sought out to gain, he rented his first 100 acres in 2003 while managing the Farm Progress Show through 2005. Since then Keith also worked in a seed sales position while he built up his acres to the point of going "full time" in farming in 2009.
Jay Ryan graduated from college in 2001 where he sought out a position in Equipment sales for five years and then transitioned into seed sales to present. In 2005 Jay rented his first 50 acres and began his expansion in Ryan Grain Farm. Even though Jay is still employed with a seed company he is nearing his point of "full time" status.
